Movember 2015

Movember is a month long event where Men grow out their mustaches during November to raise funds and awareness for men's health! This is completely new to me, I always thought that it was No-Shave November for men and women to let it grow right while the cold weather hits.

The research on the cause for Movember is eye-opening and covers a wide range of health issues that are not commonly talked about. Low life expectancy, suicide, prostate cancer, and testicular cancer are all great topics the website talks more on. They call their supporters Mo Bros and Mo Sistas who bring attention to the vital information and funding to the men's health crisis.

I love this portion on the Movember website: "This is not just an issue for men. In order to tackle the problem and work towards a world where future generations of men are not faced with the same issues as today, we need to take action at both an individual and community level. This means engaging men and women, businesses, sporting groups, community organizations, governments, health policy makers and healthcare providers in the efforts to reduce the current gender inequality in health outcomes."

YES!

Nick made me aware of this foundation this year after I teased him after he shaved his face last week. He is a total baby face without the facial hair and it shaves about 5 years off his age. Pun intended. If you are interested in learning more about Movember, take a look at their website!
